In Matthew 8, Jesus encounters a centurion who desires for Jesus to heal his servant. Jesus was willing to heal him but the centurion didn't think he deserved for Jesus to come into his house. The centurion understood the importance of authority. In this message, Pastor DaVon Alexander reveals the importance of walking in your delegated authority and the many benefits included.

Matthew 8:1-14

  • Faith begins where the will of God is known

  • The leper knew that Jesus was able but didn’t know if Jesus was willing. 

  • Centurion - an officer commanding 100 troops

  • Centurion servant is disabled, can’t move, is paralyzed, and is in a lot of pain

  • Jesus was willing to come and heal him

  • The centurion didn't feel like he deserved Jesus to come into his house but told him to release his authority by speaking a word

  • Authority - delegated power, to make use of the power 

Psalm 107:20

He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Isaiah 55:11

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

John 14:12-14

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
